Survey of and introduction to the study of African diaspora lives in the United States, focusing on the social construction of Blackness across different periods and cultures. This thematic analysis delves into the diverse experiences of the African diaspora within families, workplaces, legal systems, healthcare, literature, media, and language. This course examines differences and similarities, encompassing aspects such as ethnicity, sexuality, class, and age. Typically Offered: Spring.
